This is Red-billed Gull, common throughout New Zealand, at Otago Harbour, 29 November, 2010, Dunedin, New Zealand. The gulls are considered pests to the area as they prey on the young chicks of a local and rare Royal Albatross colony.

These are the Moeraki boulders, famous rocks which have washed up the New Zealand south islands east coast. Perfectly spherical, they are a geographic mystery as to their appearance
